Bedford Arts Choir have invited dynamic choir leader Sally Davis to deliver a folk song workshop this weekend.
Sally will run the workshop - which is open to all - on Saturday, September 19 at the Park Road Methodist Church, between 2pm and 5pm.
During the workshop, Sally will explore choral folk song arrangements in a relaxed and friendly environment.
She will teach some of the pieces to participants, as well as demonstrating vocal techniques and how to improve confidence in singing.
Sally is known for her infectious teaching style, and has a passion for unusual harmonies. She is the director of two choirs – The Wing-It Singers and The Cecil Sharp House Choir, which perform renditions of traditional songs.
Roger Illingworth, leader of the Bedford Arts Choir, said: “It is a pleasure to have Sally joining us in Bedford. Her arrangements and style will be a fantastic experience for all involved.”
The local choir - which has ran for 30 years - was created for people of all abilities, whether from complete beginners to seasoned singers. Reading music is unnecessary, and there are no auditions. Newcomers are welcome.
The workshop costs £8 and starts at 2pm on Saturday, September 19.
