Two award-winning jazz talents will perform at the weekly Bedford Arms jazz session on Monday.
Guitarist Will Arnold-Forster is a recent graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he studied under Colin Oxley and Steve Fishwick.
This year’s recipient of the Yamaha Jazz Scholarship, Will has performed with his award-winning quartet across the country and in London’s major jazz venues, including appearances at Ronnie Scott’s. Equally at home as a sideman, Will enjoys a busy schedule working with a wide range of the UK’s finest jazz musicians and ensembles, and will play with Mark Hale and Andrew Robb at the Bedford Arms.
Double bassist Andrew Robb was born in and grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland. He started learning double bass at the age of seven and became immersed in classical and jazz music. Equally versatile in both styles, he has just completed his undergraduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Since starting his studies, he won The BBC Radio Scotland Young Jazz Musician of the Year in 2009 and has performed several times on BBC Radio 3 and Radio Scotland as a leader and as a sideman.
Music is from 8.30pm with a suggested donation of £5 per person to pay the musicians for their performances.
