The Quarry Theatre in Bedford is hosting 12 shows in two days this week when it holds its second comedy festival.
It opens tomorrow (Friday) at 7pm with The Cutlery Crew: Banging Fun Stuff, followed at 7.30pm by The Comedians Cinema Club, returning to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Dirty Dancing in their own inimitable style .
Audiences can then enjoy the award-winning Kiri Pritchard-McLean’s stand up show Hysterical Woman at 8.30pm, and finishing the evening is a revival of John Godber’s Bouncers at 9pm.
Saturday afternoon is one for the family with shows including Story Pocket Theatre presenting Storyteller, Storyteller at 1pm – telling what happens when two children’s storytellers arrive at the same place at the same time to tell their stories.
Saturday evening sees sketch comedy come to the Quarry in the guise of the Kids With Beards at 5.30pm, followed by BBC Radio 4’s The Now Show’s contributors Jonny and the Baptists at 6.45pm. Bedford favourites Castle Comedy end the evening with stand-ups Olaf Falafel, Tony Law and Ivan Brakenbury.
