Castle Comedy celebrates four years of bringing comedy royalty to Bedford with an extra special night tonight (Thursday).
The event at the Gordon Arms Ent Shed will feature star acts, magic, balloons, party poppers, competitions and plenty of cake.
Headlining the show is John Robins who was described as “ comedy’s best kept secret” by The Skinny. He is no secret to the fans of XFM radio where he co-hosts the award winning Saturday morning show with fellow comic Elis James.
John has numerous Edinburgh shows under his belt and his 2013 show Where Is My Mind? was the highest reviewed show of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with ThreeWeeks awarding him their Editor’s Choice Award. In addition to his stand-up success John has a flourishing on-screen career having graced the likes of 8 Out Of 10 Cats Christmas Mash-Up (Channel 4) and Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC3). The Daily Telegraph reviewer described him as “one of the most gifted comedians I have seen”.
Opening the show is Castle Comedy favourite Olaf Falafel. With a unique mixture of one-liners and Scandinavian-tinged stories, he has reached the finals of numerous comedy competitions including being crowned the 2013 Golden Jester and also being named Last Minute Comedy Club’s New Act of 2013.
Completing the bill will be El Baldinho who will be bringing the magic to the show. With his likeable stage persona, he promises to make the audience laugh and gasp in equal measure.
The show will see the return from the Australian comedy festivals of host Paul Revill.
The show starts at 8.15pm Tickets are £10 or £18 with pre show meal and glass of wine. Call 07736 060541 to book.
