Gilad Atzmon will be leading the session and will be joined by Ralph Wyld on vibraphone, Flo Moore on double bass and Mark Hale on drums.
Gilad Atzmon is a British jazz artist and author. Gilad was born in Israel in 1963 and trained at the Rubin Academy of Music, Jerusalem. A multi-instrumentalist, he plays saxophones, clarinet and ethnic woodwind instruments . His album Exile was the BBC jazz album of the year in 2003. He was described by John Lewis at the Guardian as the “hardest-gigging man in British jazz.”
As a member of the Blockheads, Gilad has also recorded and performed with Ian Dury, Robbie Williams, Sinead O’Connor and Paul McCartney. He has also recoded with Robert Wyatt and the Waterboys. In 2014 he recorded with Pink Floyd and is featured on their last album The Endless River (Anisina).
Vibraphonist Ralph Wyld. is one of the rising stars of the London jazz Scene. His recent accolades include the Kenny Wheeler Jazz Prize 2015 and the Dankworth Prize for Jazz Composition 2015. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music jazz course, Ralph is making his name playing original, contemporary music with a number of groups .
The music starts at 8.30pm. Admission of free but with suggested contributions £5 per person to ensure the musicians get a fair fee for their performance.
