A magical blend of influences in song with jazzy Marta

A top vocalist from the London jazz scene sings in Bedford next week.

Marta Capponi will be performing at the Bedford Arms on Monday alongside Rick Simpson on the piano, Andrew Robb on bass and Mark Hale on drums.

Italian-born Marta started her career when she was 12 years old, winning many local and national music contests and being considered an “enfant prodige”.

At 19 she moved to Rome where started her jazz studies with the best italian and international musicians and vocalists such. Her name became well known in the Rome music scene and she started many different collaborations that opened her mind to various forms of music, from jazz to pop, from folk to Brazilian music, passing through contemporary and improvised music.

Since 2012 Marta been continuing her musical career in London and has been performing with many of the top jazz musicians around the city. Marta says she aims “to find a way to blend all these experiences together to create a special and unique sound”.

Music starts at 8.30pm and audience members are encouraged to give a donation of £5 which pays the musicians for their performance.
