The ladies’ 2s led the way, winning 2-1 in their vital relegation showdown against Blueharts.

Goals from Yvette Van Yperen and Cheryll Wilson, and a fine second half team display insigated by player of the match Ellie Priston, saw Bedford home despite some tense final moments.

Down in Tunbridge Wells, the ladies’ first team were well below par but a brace from Andrea Mason saw them pick up a point in a 2-2 draw.

However the dropped points, coupled with a win for West Herts, saw them reach an unassailable 10-point grab in the table and gain promotion to the National League.

Sportingly, Bedford sent their congratulations to West Herts, who were very deserved champions this season.

Bedford will be looking to cement second place in their final three matches of the season as they take on St Albans, Harleston Magpies and Maidstone.

Elsewhere, Becky Burgoine and Kelly Drage helped the ladies’ 3s to another win in the Five Counties Premier Division as they notched up a 2-1 win against St Albans to retain their fourth place position.

There was good news for the ladies’ 4s as they won 2-0 with strikes from youngsters Alisha McLeod and Abbie Collard.

The ladies’ 5s were the big scorers this weekend as they emphatically dispatched Saffron Walden VI 7-0, including a first Bedford hat-trick for player of the match Ellie Scott.

Last but not least, the ladies’ sixth team won their match 4-0.
