The launch of the campaign on Wednesday, May 27 will coincide with a new dedicated website, www.throwyourselfintojudo.com going live; the site will provide a comprehensive resource library for those who are new to the sport or who want to find out more about opportunities in volunteering, coaching, officiating and refereeing.

With nearly 900 clubs across the country catering for children and adults of all abilities, Throw Yourself Into Judo will also help those who want to take part in the sport to find a local club.

“Judo is a fantastic sport and is an ideal way to get fit, make new friends and have fun,” said British Judo chairman Kerrith Brown. “It’s a sport with a rich tradition and has respect, self-discipline, fairness, responsibility, honesty and positivity at the centre of all its teachings.

“By launching Throw Yourself Into Judo we aim to extend our reach within our existing network and also to engage with men and women, boys and girls who may have little or no knowledge of judo, to raise awareness of a sport that can truly benefit participants of all ages and abilities.”
