Telvision star at angling club’s charity night

The Kings Arms Angling Club has pulled off a major coup in attracting a TV star to its charity night.

The Sandy-based club will again have two top personalities in attendance after television star Matt Hayes and Carp World editor Chris Ball agreed with the organisers to appear earlier this week. The charity evening is on Monday, February 20 while the venue will again be Sandy’s Holiday Inn Garden Court Hotel.

Matt Hayes certainly needs no introduction. His many angling DVDs and films frequently appear on the small screen, making him one of the best known all round anglers in the country.

Meanwhile Chris Ball is extremely popular and well respected in the carp world, being editor/ director of two major carp fishing magazines. He is also highly-rated as a speaker and both he and Matt will make time available for a question and answer session to round off the evening.

It will be a fantastic opportunity to meet Matt and Chris and to put questions to two of angling’s true mega stars.

Bob Church and Mike Green, who instigated the event some five years ago, will also both be there.

Mike has some amazing footage of his latest big fish exploits in Costa Rica where he landed Tarpon to 180lbs on fly gear.

Meanwhile Bob is a trout angling legend and an accomplished all round coarse fish expert. Bob will be meeting people in the bar area and be available for discussions and book signings all evening.

There will be the usual auctions of a day fishing on private lakes for huge carp, double figure trout plus a day pike fishing with Bob and Mike, together with a major tombola where there will be some astounding prizes to be won – so don’t miss out!

Tickets are £10 each and are only available in advance, so to make sure of yours, call Sonia on 01767 223657. Numbers are strictly limited and please note that no tickets will be on sale on the door which will open at 6.30pm while the main presentation will start at 7.30pm.

The Holiday Inn Garden Court Hotel can be found by the A1 roundabout at Sandy.
