Tallentire registers first-ever perfect game

Bedfordshire Ten-Pin Bowling team took on Oxfordshire in a challenge match at RAF Croughton.

Beds sent 12 bowlers to take part and the highlight was a perfect game of 12 strikes by the visitors’ Ian Tallentire from Bedford - his first-ever 300 game.

A close match saw the Oxfordshire trio of Andy Parish, Gary Baker, and Ken Iredale win by just six points from Beds’ top team of Kate Wicklow, Adam Bootle (Silsoe) and Neil Hunter (Sundon Park).

Also bowling were Terrence Parrett, Alison Bootle, Martin Stackpoole, Jo Green, Lorna Scott, Paul Griffiths, Jeff Taylor and Dave Bedford.

Top Bedfordshire bowler was Adam Bootle, who averaged 227 a game.

Beds are hoping to organise a return fixture at Dunstable’s Gobowling later this year.
