Bedford Blues have announced their first new signings ahead of the 2015/16 campaign this week, bringing England sevens player Sam Blanchet to Goldington Road as well as re-signing Nick Fenton-Wells, Charlie Clare, Pat Tapley and Dean Adamson.
Blanchet, the brother of current Blues forward Justin, is a powerful runner who can play on the wing or at centre in the backs, as well as having a history of being a back-row forward.
The Exeter Chiefs man will link up with Fenton-Wells, Clare, Tapley and Adamson who will be wearing the Blue of Bedford again next year, and Mike Rayer says the club are working hard behind the scenes for more additions.
“We obviously needed to know confirmation as to where we would be next year and, now that we have that, we can start to plan for next year,” confirmed the Blues head coach.
“There will be more to come as well, we are working quietly and diligently behind the scenes. Hopefully there will be a bit of excitement going into next season with the series of players we want to retain and those coming in who will add some quality.”
Rayer continued: “We’re working hard on it all and that won’t change over the next couple of months, so yeah it’s a busy time of the year really.
“We’re looking forward to the next two games now and we’re really going in to those games with a positive frame of mind.”
Dean Adamson expressed his happiness on twitter, saying: ‘Delighted to have signed again for @BedfordBluesRFC #COYB’
