Bedford boss Mike Rayer is relishing the prospect of facing top of the table Worcester Warriors to Goldington Road on Saturday afternoon.
Dean Ryan’s Worcester are on an incredible 21-game winning streak, but with a huge crowd expected behind them, the Blues are hoping to exert themselves on the league leaders.
Rayer said: “The biggest test of all this week with Worcester coming here and they’re in unbelievable form at the minute, as good as anything I’ve seen at this level.
“We have a massive challenge on our hands and it’s one we are not shying away from, we are looking forward to testing ourselves.”
Coming off the back of a 17-3 defeat at Jersey, a match that was heavily influenced by a deluge of morning rain; Rayer’s side are desperate to put in a strong performance in front of their home crowd.
He continued: “It wasn’t a bad performance last week; it was just terrible conditions with the match hinging on two or three key moments.
“However we’ve got something really exciting to look forward to this week and it’s probably just what we wanted.
“They (Worcester) offer threats right across the board, there are a very skilful side.
“We have just got to do our level best to get some ball and so we can attack them, that’s what we are focusing on.”
Bedford could welcome Saracens dual-registered youngster Hayden Thompson-Stringer into the squad this weekend.
