Bedford Blues full-back James Pritchard is joining near-neighbours Ampthill on a short term loan deal to help them during an injury crisis.
Pritchard, who recently appeared in his fourth Rugby World Cup with the Canadian national side, joins up with several former Blues players as Ampthill prepare to face Hull Ionians this weekend.
Speaking about the move, Bedford Blues director of rugby Mike Rayer said: “Pritch is an amazingly experienced player who will be able to help out Ampthill on the pitch as they battle with a nasty injury crisis.
“With Steffan Jones and Piers O’Conor playing so well at the moment, we are blessed to have three excellent full-backs and we are lucky to be in the position of being able to help out Ampthill during their moment of need.
“I’m sure that Pritch will enjoy getting a good run out and will be chomping at the bit to get back to Goldington Road and stake his claim for the number 15 jersey.”
