Bedford Blues will be crossing the Channel as they prepare for a Valentine’s Day rendezvous with Jersey on Saturday afternoon.
A patient and controlled performance against Plymouth Albion last weekend saw the Blues run in five tries during a bonus point victory over the Championship’s bottom side and a return to winning ways.
Trips to Jersey have never been easy encounters and while the Blues will be expecting a warm welcome off the field, they know that they will have to be at their best to leave St Peter’s with anything especially as the hosts are unbeaten in three having picked up a hard fought draw up at Rotherham last weekend.
Bedford and Jersey shared six tries - and three yellow cards - when the two sides met at Goldington Road, but it was the Blues who prevailed on that day 25-20.
Blues Director of Rugby Mike Rayer makes just three changes to the side that beat Plymouth with Henry Staff starting at centre, Steffan Jones coming in at fly half and Josh Buggea getting the nod at blindside flanker.
