Ampthill have confirmed two new signings ahead of the 2016-17 National One campaign.
Openside Joseph Bercis has returned to the club from Moseley, while Nottingham’s Oris Nawagalive has joined too.
Bercis, 22, who has been capped by Ireland at U18 and U19 level, spent two seasons at Dillingham Park when Ampthill were a National Two side, as he scored 34 tries in 54 appearances.
He played 11 times in the Championship for Moseley last term, scoring once and had just established himself in the match day squad when injury unfortunately ended his season just before Christmas.
On his move back to the club, Bercis said: “I’m delighted to be returning to Ampthill and working with Paul Turner again.
“It’s an exciting time for the club and I hope to contribute to another successful campaign.”
Meanwhile, centre Oris Nawaqalive, who played for Fiji in the 2014 Junior Word Cup, represented Nottingham 10 times in the Championship, scoring two tries.
He added: “I am really happy to join Ampthill, as good signings have added to an already strong squad which achieved fourth in National One.
“I’m happy to be a part of the club moving forward.”
Head coach Paul Turner added: “I am delighted to welcome Joe and Oris to Ampthill.
“Joe was outstanding during his previous time with us while Oris will add to our midfield options with his skill and physicality.”
