After a hard fought win against a poorly disciplined Stoke Old Boys, Bedford Swifts 1st XV had to travel to Stamford to face a relegation battling Stamford College Old Boys.

Bedford Swifts 1st XV emerged 62-0 in a bitterly cold encounter thanks to multiple tries from James Harley, Fred Shannon, Sam Richbell, Lee Walker, the latter two players each kicking 2 or more conversions.

Nick Halstead and Matt Wilson also added a try a piece.

With the Swifts 1st XV eyes set on promotion, the win made it two in a row and added a bit of momentum to the run in for Christmas.

However this momentum is nothing compared to the Bedford Swifts 2nd XV who beat Oundle 2nd XV 22 – 12.

Jamie Goss, Karl Siudak, Simon Llewellyn, and Jones all scored a try each, with Matthews adding a conversion.

The win at the weekend for the Swifts 2nd XV now takes them to seven wins on the trot, meaning they have won 10 out of 11 games this season.

With 16 league games making up the season, and having won 8 from the 9 played, whispers of a league title float on the wind.
