Olympic swim seal of approval

SWIMMING: A swimming project that will give young people with physical, sensory or intellectual disabilities in Bedfordshire the chance to dream of Paralympic glory has been given the London 2012 seal of approval.

Swim Links, led by the ASA (the national governing body for swimming), has been awarded the London 2012 Inspire Mark, which officially recognises projects that have been inspired by the Games.

From April, the project will offer youngsters who are identified at school as having ‘higher swimming ability’ the chance to improve through extra swimming sessions.

Sessions will be held at the Flitwick Lesiure Centre, and those swimmers who impress will have their skills assessed to see if they are good enough for the East regional squad.

Sessions will take place between April and July – email [email protected] or telephone 01625 440434.
