Leighton Masqueraders to mark 30th anniversary

It is hard to believe it has been 30 years now since the Leighton Masqueraders was formed by Tony and Jean Wright.

So now it’s time to commemorate the lengthy existence of this popular and talented local musical society that has successfully staged over 60 shows since its conception in 1982. A special event is being staged at the Royal British Legion Hall in Thrift Road, Heath and Reach, from 5.30pm on Sunday, October 7.

A spokesman said: “We are looking for anyone who has been involved in any way with the society over the years as you are more than welcome to join us for the evening and reacquaint yourself with some old faces you may not have seen for a while.

“So come and reminisce with us in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. An invitation is also extended to new members and potential new members who would like to be involved with this friendly society.”

The evening will feature a sing-a-long around the piano, professional karaoke, a music quiz and lots of fun. There will be a licenced bar and buffet.

Entry is by ticket only which cost £3 to cover costs, inluding a buffet.

The group will also be staging a Musical Revue on Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1, to celebrate the anniversary.
