The new Ironman 70.3 triathlon in Staffordshire was a popular event for Bedford Harriers, who had a great turnout and some equally impressive results.
Gill Fullen beat all the other age groupers and many of the professionals to finish as fifth lady overall and first in her age group in a time of 4 hours and 51 minutes.
Other age group placings were achieved by Nick Beardow, who came fourth – missing third by only a few seconds – Melly Burrell, who managed a fine fifth place in her age group, and Paul Stuart who was seventh in his category.
In London, two Harriers were tackling the London Enduro 50k, which consisted of a five-lap off-road course. Carrie Traill and Richard Baldock finished in 6 hours 34 mins.
