The Bedford Golf Club’s Dillon Basi recorded his second victory on 2015 Shires Junior Golf Tour as he clinched the Copper Division in the ninth round at Glen Gorse in Leicestershire on Sunday.
The eight-year-old, who was also successful in the nine-hole competition at Kingsthorpe in May, carded an excellent score of 37 points to nudge one ahead of Conor Tallentire.
With 60 talented youngsters taking part on a day when the weather improved throughout the afternoon, Matt Goode led the way in the 18-hole competition after smashing 47 points.
The 17-year-old, who won his net club championship at Priors Gall the previous weekend, finished 11 points clear of Stephen Hughes in the Silver Division, with Dev Popat in third spot on 35.
A mammoth 42 points was the best score in the top division as Peterborough Milton’s Ben Chance beat Jason McGuinness by two.
Bedford & County’s Oliver Saunders maintained his challenge in the Order of Merit by securing third place on 37.
Katie Amos won the Bronze Division as she finished one ahead of Northants County club-mate Jack Peters after shooting 44 points.
Adam O’Brien and Joseph Hyde were next on 41 apiece.
With golfers up to 21 years of age allowed to play, the next Shires Junior Golf Tour event takes place on Monday, July 27 at Peterborough Milton.
