Eight Flitwick Dolphins swimmers took part in the East Region Championships recently.
The first weekend of swimming was held at Luton Inspire, with events for the over 15, 16 and 17 year age groups, while the second was held at Norwich Sportspark for swimmers aged 14 and under.
The Flitwick Dolphins swimmers taking part in the first weekend were Max Stefanik (17), Julia Lenkiewicz (15), and Georgie Curtis (15) and George Borthwick (18).
Borthwick qualified for two finals, finishing seventh in the 200m backstroke and sixth in the 200m individual medley (IM), setting a club record in the medley.
The swimmers who competed in the second weekend’s events were Edward McFarland (12), James McFarland (14), Molly Bow (14) and Kai Borromeo (12).
The swimmers set 11 new club records between them, while James McFarland and Bow, made the podium, McFarland winning silver in the 200m butterfly and Bow doing likewise in the 50m breaststroke, while adding bronze in the 100m breaststroke.
Borromeo also qualified for a final, coming fifth in the 50m breaststroke.
Bow has now qualified for the 50m and 100m breaststroke at the British and English Summer Championships, McFarland in the 200m butterfly at the English Nationals.
