Lewin wins Bedford & County Golf Club's first trophy of 2021

The ladies of Bedford & County celebrated their return to golf and the Easter break with a fun competition – best 3 from 4 scores. Despite the very cold weather there were some good scores with the winning group coming in with 112 points – Glynis Winrow, Linda Stock, Barbara Naylor and Angela Millward. Runners up, with 110 points were Pat Anderson, Christine Rowland, Anne Seaton and Pauline Hulance

The men went straight into a mid-week stableford – Division One winner Andy Bennet 38 pts, runner up Daniel Toes 36 pts; Division Two winner David Eales 35 pts on c/b from Steve Hogg also on 35 pts; Division Three winner Billy Jackson 39 pts, runner up Andy Mann 36 pts.

Sunday 11th April would see the men compete for the Litchfield Trophy which was also a monthly medal and a Lombard Trophy Qualifier. Another cold day, and an early start for some, did not deter 120 participants from taking part in the first trophy competition of 2021. The overall winner was Jamie Lewin with a net 67. Division One winner was Andy Bennet with 69, runner up Finlay Cummings 71; Division Two winner Curtis Powers net 69 on c/b from Martin Smith also on 69; Division Three winner Jamie Lewin net 67, runner up Mark Scrivin-Cowan 69.
