At the club’s 25-mile Open Time-Trial on Sunday morning 41 riders took to the full event and into a strong headwind.

Icknield’s Tim Davies triumphed in 57.22mins, closely followed by the host club’s Simon Norman, in his first open 25-miler, in 57.54mins, as the extremely tough conditions knocked three minutes off most people’s usual times.

Kieron Lewis started first in the main event and, with no-one to chase down, managed to record a sub-hour time of 59.49mins to come home fifth in his first open time-trial for the club.

Jon Friend came home sixth in 1.00.19hrs and Dave Olney battled home for 26th 1.05.45hrs.
