Second placed AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College retained their 100 per cent home record with a 2-0 victory over Wootton Blue Cross for whom Sundeep Gill and Danny Pilgrim netted the vital goals.

With third place Lidlington United Sports game at Hurst Grove against Sharnbrook waterlogged off, Wilstead are now just a point behind them following their 2-1 victory at Caldecote.

It was the home side who took the lead after 17 minutes via Conor Smith but with a brace of goals from Paul Jones in the closing 10 minutes it was the visitors who took the spoils to extend their unbeaten away run to four games, as their hosts fell to their third consecutive home defeat.

Elsewhere, AFC Oakley Sports M&DH remain unbeaten on home soil this season after sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Flitwick Town.

Antony Marshall and James Cambell both netting twice against a lone reply from Glen Tumulty.

Goldington dropped to third after AFC Turvey climbed above them with a 4-0 home win over Elstow Abbey to make it five wins on the bounce as they retained their season’s unbeaten ways.

Also winning on home soil were Bedford Sports Athletic with a 5-0 victory over Woburn Lions.

For bottom of the table Bromham United it was home defeat number six in a row in going down 3-0 to Marabese Ceramics, John Voought netting twice and Bradley Vouught once.

Second from bottom Shefford Town & Campton Reserves were beaten 4-3 at home by Sandy.

Jonnie Stratford twice plus Liam Brophy and Phill Beall netting for the visitors against home replies via Ryan Dobson, Josh Whetlor and Stuart Peace.
