Renhold stretch lead to eight points

Tommy Foyle netted twice against the bottom side alongside Aaron Hazelwood and Jason Allison to ensure United would retain their 100% away record against home goals from an Andrew Vallom penalty and Jacob Ghefhafn.

For second place Shefford Town & Campton it was home defeat number four on the bounce when they lost 3-2 to Sharnbrook, the visitors also missing twice from the penalty spot inside a two minute period late in the game. Shaun Barnett with a brace plus Alex Strange on the Sharnbrook scoresheet against home replies from Michael Jones and Ryan Lewis.

Third spot Flitwick Town, who trail the league leaders by some nine points, kept their championship hopes alive in taking their unbeaten home ways up to five games with a 1-0 win over second from bottom of the table Caldecote thanks to a first half strike from Pat Lewis.

Whilst just still goal difference behind them in fifth spot are AFC Oakley M&DH who ran out 5-1 home winners over Eastcotts AFC. Oli Plested scored` a brace which was supported by strikes from Chris Thorman, Carl Warner and Alex Liburd to bring up the nap hand against a penalty in reply from Kaylin Wilson.

Still sitting in fifth spot are Wootton Blue Cross after they took their unbeaten away ways up to five games by winning 2-0 at Sandy who are still looking for their first home win of the season.

Ahead via a 5th minute own goal they were to double the scoreline in the 57th minute via Ryan Mellor before riding their luck in the closing 10 minutes during which time the home side saw two efforts come back off the woodwork and another cleared off the line.

In sixth place are Marston Shelton Rovers who made it four away wins on the bounce with a 3-1 victory at Pavenham. Alan Henman netting twice and Harry Baker once against a lone home reply from Tom Ellis. Whilst for seventh place AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College it was a 5-3 away win at Wilstead. Courtney Broughton with a brace joined on the scoresheet by Tyrone Kelly, Ryan Smith and Andrew Latimer against home replies via Paul Jones, Alex Russell and Greg Turnball.

Division One supported by Wests Citroen Bedford

With leaders Elstow Abbey away on Centenary Cup duty second place Cranfield United who have still played three games less took full advantage to close the gap on them to just six points when they made it win number 10 on the bounce and retained their perfect home record in beating Queens Park Crescents 1-0. Martin Holland netted the all important goal just 10 minutes from time.

For third place Henlow following three straight defeats it was a return to winning ways with a 6-3 victory at AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Reserves. Stephen Fletcher and Russell Ayles both netted twice alongside strikes from David Kiddie and James Campbell against Town replies via Ashley Windridge, Simon Dunne and Anas Bechkoum.

Also enjoying life on the road were Shefford Town & Campton Reserves who won 3-1 at Sundon Park Rangers. Malcolm Marimirofa netting twice and Simon Castle once against a lone home reply from Ryan Smith. Whilst the other three league games all finished in draws.

At Cople Playing Fields, Bedford SA with a goal from Daniel Lupton ended a five game losing run in sharing the spoils with Riseley Sports in a 1-1 draw where Josh Poole replied for the visitors and at Miller Road, Meltis Albion were held to a 3-3 draw by AFC Oakley M&DH Reserves. Carl Townsend, Josh St Clair Pierre and Kieran Walsh netted for the Albion against replies from Ray Patrickson, Mitchell Crook and Daniel Bentley.

Elsewhere over at Mill Lane, Potton Town having lost their last four outings stopped the rot by drawing 3-3 with Marabese Ceramics. Chris Cooper, Tom Pyman and Chris Moore on the Town scoresheet against replies from Giuseppe D’Angelo twice and Colin Standley once.

Centenary Cup Round One

Elstow Abbey now face a trip in round two to either Riseley Sports or Shefford Town & Campton Reserves after running out 2-0 home winners over AFC Harlington. Aaran Cavill netting in the sixth minute and Andy Klein in the 28th minute to do the damage.

Bedfordshire FA Intermediate Cup Semi-final

Great Barford will now contest this season’s final against AFC Dunstable Reserves after netting a 4-2 penalty shoot-out win at North Bucks League Southcott Village Residents Association after 90 minutes play had seen the sides deadlocked at 4-4. Nick Payne, Reuben Hukin, David Mulvihill and Gary Canzano scored the goals in normal time.

Division Two

Clapham Sports took their lead at the head of the division two table up to four points from the non-playing Stevington who have played six games fewer after they netted a 3-1 home win over Moggerhanger United. Neil Larman scored twice and Mario Espozito once against a lone United reply from Brandon Bates.

Whilst with FC Houghton’s home game with Kempston Athletic postponed jumping above them into third place on goal difference and now trailing Stevington by the same margin are Westoning who made it 10 wins on the bounce to retain their unbeaten away ways by winning 5-2 at Wootton Village. Bryn Reynolds led the way with a hat-trick and supported by goals from Glen Cooksley and James Lovett against home replies via Adam Flynn and Jacob Bassett.

For fifth place Elstow Abbey Reserves it was a shock 3-1 defeat at Meltis Albion Reserves who were ending a run of nine consecutive defeats,Jay Fattrusso with a brace plus Shaun Gilbert the home goalscorers against a lone Abbey reply from Jamie Carter.

Whilst Bedford United have now failed to win any of their last eight home games after being beaten 4-2 by bottom of the table Wilstead Reserves. Robert Booth with a brace plus Sam Ward and Luke Prietzel netting for the visitors against United replies via Jamaal Dixon and Adam Wodecki.

Also enjoying life on the road were Renhold United Reserves who after being 2-0 down at Caldecote Reserves netted three times in the last 15 minutes to win 3-2. Liberto Battezzato with a brace plus Justin Ludman on the United scoresheet against first half strikes from Simon Ashton and Nicky Albone. Whilst Marston Shelton Rovers Reserves took their unbeaten ways up to four games with a 3-2 home win over Kempston Hammers. Dale Makow netting twice and Antony Henman once against Hammers replies from an own goal and a James Peacock penalty.

Division Three

With leaders Flitwick Town Reserves and second place Lea Sports PSG taking the afternoon off, third place Cranfield United Reserves took full advantage to close the gap on them both to just two points by winning 3-2 at Mid Beds Tigers. Daniel Mclaren netted twice and Ben Thompson once against Tigers replies via Craig Baker and Rob Gaylor.

Meantime fourth place FC Serbia are now unbeaten in their last nine starts after winning 2-0 at Dinamo Flitwick thanks to an own goal plus a strike from Stefan Maljkovic and for fifth place Atletico Europa it was a 5-1 home win over Shefford Town & Campton A. Kane Alexander with a brace plus strikes from Mo Banda, Daniel Avis and Yasmin Demir only being replied to once by Simon Smith.

However, the biggest winners of the day were White Eagles who ran out 6-1 home winners over a Caldecote U20 side who have failed to win any of their last 11 starts. The game in effect being all over within 12 minutes following goals from Damien Krowczyk, Rafal Cygan and Maciej Maciorowski too see the Eagles race into a 3-0 lead which was added to by Marcin Ptak four minutes before the break and then increased further by Krowczyk on the hour mark and Mateusz Dybikowski nine minutes from time before the visitors reduced the scorline via an own goal six minutes later.

Elsewhere, Clifton have now lost their last seven away games after being beaten 2-1 at Westoning U20. James Russell and Domonic Benmoussa were on the home scoresheet against a lone reply from Charlie Watson.
