PREVIEW: Beds County League

Action in the top flight Premier Division supported by Sportsform section will see league leaders Lidlington United Sports hit the road for a Pavenham Playing Fields outing against their Pavenham hosts who will be looking for their first victory of the season.

Second place Wilstead will be in home Jubilee Playing Fields action against second from bottom of the table Ickwell & Old Warden.

For the divisions still only 100% side AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College, its a short trip down the road to Weston Park to take on Wootton Blue Cross. Also hitting the road hoping to retain their seasons unbeaten ways will be AFC Oakley Sports M&DH when they journey to Lodge Road to take on bottom of the table Sharnbrook. Plus also looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign will be Renhold United who entertain Flitwick Town at their Playing Field headquarters.

Other action takes Marston Shelton Rovers on the road to Rectory Road to face hosts Shefford Town & Campton and at Greenfields, Shillington play hosts to Caldecote.

For the top two sides in division one, it’s tough looking games on the road. Leaders Eastcotts AFC heading to Ickleford Recreation Ground to face Marabese Ceramics and second place Elstow Abbey on the road to Bedford Road Recreation Ground and a meeting with still unbeaten and third place Sandy.

For Woburn Lions, its home Crawley Road action against Shefford Town & Campton Reserves and at Harvey Close, the visitors to face hosts Caldecote Reserves are Goldington. Whilst after a seasons absence, football returns to Stonefields where AFC Turvey will be playing hosts to Brickhill Tigers.

The other two games in this division coming in Luton. At Chaul End Lane, Luton Boys Seniors receive a visit from Henlow and in Stockwood Park, Sundon Park Rangers play hosts to Bromham United.

After last weeks opening day win that took them to the top of the table, AFC Harlington are likely to find life a little tougher this week when the visitors to their New Grounds base are Potton United Reserves. Yet perhaps fancying their chances of a win on the road will be Cranfield United when they journey to The Luton Regional Centre to face Stopsley Park and Potton Town who head for a King George VI Playing Field outing against Kings AFC.

Other action in this division takes Queens Park Crescents on the road to Hillgrounds to be hosted by AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Reserves and Renhold United Reserves making the short journey for some local derby action against AFC Oakley Sports M&DH Reserves. Whilst the final game sees Clifton open their season with a visit to Solway Road to take on Co-Op Sports.

After their big win on the opening day of the season Bedford Panthers commence life on the road in division three this season with a visit to The Warren to take on Elstow Abbey Reserves. Whilst Im sure Ickwell & Old Warden Reserves will feel more at home on The Green when visited by Stevington for whom it will be the start of their 2013-14 campaign.

Also having their first game of the season will be Kempston Hammers Sports at their Cutler Hammer base when they host the visiting Wilstead Reserves and hoping to net a win in their first ever home game will be AFC Bush when they take on Kempston Athletic at Hillgrounds.

Other action comes at Whiston Crescent where Clifton Reserves play hosts to Kempston Con Club Sports plus at their Playing Field headquarters, Marston Shelton Rovers Reserves entertain Meltis Albion.

After their opening day win, Division Four Sandy Reserves make the short journey this weekend to Harvey Close to face Caldecote A. Whilst FC Houghton hit the road for Crawley Road and an outing against Cranfield United Reserves.

It’s a big welcome back to the local football scene for Moggerhanger United who will be hitting the road to Miller Road to face Meltis Albion Reserves and also a first ever game for Athletico Europa who head for a Redborne School 3G pitch outing against Flitwick Town Reserves.

Over at Mowsbury Park, Bedford Park Rangers will be taking on Mid Beds Tigers, whilst another league newcomer hitting the road will be Clapham Sports who head for a Hinksley Road outing against Dinamo Flitwick. The final game in this division being at Wootton Playing Fields where hosts Wootton Village receive a visit from Shefford Town & Campton A as both sides look to continue their winning ways.
