Bedford Town held Arlesey Town to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday evening, in a match that was upstaged by the howling winds of Storm Barney at the Armadillo Stadium.
Bedford started the first half with the gusting winds at their backs, but Arlesey were quickest to adapt to the conditions as Nathan Olukanmi looked dangerous on the wing.
Just over midway through the half, Javia Roberts and Bilal Yafai combined on the edge of the Arlesey area, with the former seeing his eventual shot deflecting off a defender and saved by Nick Thompson.
The opening goal of the game came after 53 minutes as Ben Farrell slipped the ball through the Bedford defence for Lewis Wilson to run on to and slot past Tyler Reading.
Neither side could get a proper foothold on the game and clear chances were few and far between from then on.
However, it was Bedford who struck next as they equalised with seven minutes of normal time remaining.
Roberts crossed from the right where substitute Josh Bamford took it back to the edge of the area, turned and fired the ball into the bottom right hand corner.
On 90 minutes, Farrell had a go from distance and his 25-yarder just dipped over the bar, before Luke Abraham fired a free-kick over the Bedford wall, forcing Reading to beat the ball away to ensure the game ended all square.
Bedford are back at the Eyrie on Saturday, hosting third placed Egham Town in a 3pm kick-off.
