Ampthill Town bounced back from their North Beds Cup exit to record their second point of the season at Cockfosters on Saturday.
Town won their first point of the SSML Premier Division campaign in a 1-1 home draw with London Tigers in September and they got their second in a goalless draw at Chalk Lane at the weekend.
Their hosts had won five successive league games so it was an improved display from Ampthill who showed more spirit and urgency.
Town might even have come away with all three points as they put in a strong finish.
Louis Dillon and Nathan Evans both had chances to seal victory late in the game while Sheldon Washington was another who was well placed but could not make his effort count.
It was a much stronger performance than in recent weeks, with the side looking ‘more of a unit’ according to manager Derwayne Stupple.
Town’s defence was also on top form and kept a rare clean sheet – the showing will give the team some much-needed belief and confidence.
Town have no game this weekend but visit Biggleswade Utd on Tuesday before a home game with London Colney on Saturday week.
