Oakley’s winning run brought to an end

AFC Oakley M&DH’s lead at the head of the Premier Division supported by Sportsform table is down to just a single point after their 10 game winning run was brought to an end with a 1-1 draw at Sharnbrook.

Chris Prior netted for the home side from the penalty spot against an Oakley reply via Rob Heaney on Saturday.

Now up into second spot are Renhold United who ran out 2-1 home winners over AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College to duly end the Town’s five game winning away run. Ben Brown and Mark Reed were on the home scoresheet against one in reply from Colby Smith.

Whilst for third place Ampthill Town Reserves it was an end to their 100% away ways when held to a 2-2 draw at Pavenham, Max Henrickson and Nick Payne on the home scoresheet against Town replies via Joe O’Donnell and Phil Matthews.

For fifth place Flitwick Town it was an end to their 12 game unbeaten run when beaten 2-1 at Shefford Town & Campton. Tom Scurfield fired the home side ahead in the 37th minute only to see Richie Bevan level matters for the visitors on the hour mark. Jonnie Stratford netted what turned out to be the winning goal from the penalty spot some 16 minutes from time.

Sixth place Wilstead are now unbeaten in their last nine outings after winning 3-1 at Marston Shelton Rovers. JM Steele, Adam Budek and Paul Jones netted the vital goals against a lone Rovers reply from Dale Maicaw.

Also enjoying life on the road were Cranfield United who won 3-2 at Ickwell & Old Warden. Martin Holland netting all three goals against home replies from Zak Rowe and Josh Cranwell.

The Elstow Abbey v Eastcotts AFC game was postponed due to the Abbey being unable to raise a side.

Division One supported by Wests Citroen Bedford

Ickleford missed the chance to climb into third spot in the league table and saw their 100% home ways blown away when held to a 0-0 draw by Shefford Town & Campton Reserves.

Whilst now just two points behind them in fifth spot are Meltis Albion after they ran out 5-3 winners at Houghton Athletic, Scott Alleyne with a hat-trick and Stanley Gonese with a brace bringing up the nap hand against home replies from Jordan Thomas, Glen Collins and Hayden Fletcher.

For seventh place Westoning it was retention of their unbeaten home ways with a 4-0 victory over Riseley Sports, Sam Holmes, Sam Child, Lewis Cooksley and Rob Cooksey all finding the back of the net.

Whilst Potton Town lifted themselves out of the drop zone with a 2-0 home win over Queens Park Crescents, Chris Moore and James Pyman netting the vital goals.

Bedfordshire FA Intermediate Cup Round Three

The top scorers of the day were Sundon Park Rangers who ran out 6-3 home winners over Luton District & South Beds League side FC Spandits. Matthew Conway with a brace joined on the scoresheet by a penalty from Aiden Dawson plus strikes from Shaka Anderson, Lee Garner and Farrell Whitman.

Also seeing off Luton District & South Beds League opposition were both AFC Oakley M&DH Reserves and AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Reserves who netted penalty shoot-out away wins.

Town with goals from Anas Bechkoum and Chris Wright drew 2-2 at YP Community before winning the shoot-out 4-3.

The boys from Oakley drew 2-2 at Christians in Sport thanks to goals from Mitch Crook and Owen Leyton before successful spot kicks from Owen Leyton, Cameron Edwards and Hayden Sohanta took them to a 3-1 spot kick victory.

Joining these three sides in the Quarter Final draw will be Henlow who emerged 2-0 home winners over Biggleswade United Development thanks to a brace of goals from Antony Bowskill. Alas for Stevington it was the end of the road when despite a brace of goals from Jordan Wright they were beaten 3-2 at home by Luton District & South Beds League side Farley Boys.

Division Two

Cranfield United Reserves’ lead at the head of the Division Two league table is now up to six points after they retained their unbeaten ways with a 7-3 home victory over ninth place Wootton Village. Ben Thompson, Adam Constable, Jordan Conway, Adam Kerr, Ryan Collis, Phil Kempsell and Daniel McLaren all found the back of the net against a hat-trick in reply from Nick Burraway for the Village.

Now up into second spot are Cople Sports & Bedford SA who retained their 100% home ways with a 4-0 win over Lea Sports PSG. Paul Nigro, Daniel Lupton, Ashlee Banton and Tom Marwood netted the vital goals.

Whilst fourth place Clapham Sports also remain 100% at home this season after beating Kempston Hammers Sports 7-2, Marko Tobzic with a hat-trick joined on the scoresheet by Liam Bolton and Neil Larman who both netted braces against Hammers replies from Dan Havil and Chris Greene.

Down at the other end of the table Marston Shelton Rovers Reserves remain rooted to the bottom spot despite picking up their first away point of the season in drawing 2-2 at Bedford United. Tom Wade and Thomas Donnelly scored for United against Rovers replies via Robert Taylor and George Rogers.

Rovers remain on the bottom spot after second from bottom Kempston Athletic ended a run of seven straight defeats with a 3-2 home victory over Flitwick Town Reserves thanks to goals from Richie Andrews, Troy Rossendorfer and Mark Nicholson.

Division Three

Wixams remain 100% for the season and seven points clear at the head of Division Three following their 2-0 home win over third from bottom Sandy Reserves. Iain Hall and Gareth White netted the goals to do the damage. Whilst second place Sundon Park Rovers are now unbeaten in their last nine starts after recording a 4-2 home win over Dinamo Flitwick – Nick Buttigeig, Craig Barnes, Daniel Longalonga and Kane Griffiths all finding the back of the net against Dinamo replies via Dale Goldie and Jack Fuller.

For third spot White Eagles it was a 2-2 home draw against Renhold United Reserves. Rafal Cygan and Arkadivsz Boruch were on the mark for the Eagles against United replies from Casey Young and Craig Brown.

Whilst fourth place AFC Dunton ran out 2-1 home winners over Shefford Town & Campton A. Chris Mattingley and Lee Adams netting the goals against one in reply from Tristan Potkins.

The biggest win of the day belonged to Caldecote Reserves who made it three home wins on the bounce with a 7-3 victory over Clifton who were suffering their fourth successive defeat. Sam Julian led the way with a hat-trick and he was joined on the scoresheet by Simon Ashton who netted twice plus Carl Heath and Alan Turner who netted once against visiting replies from Joe Warboys, Joe Marshall and Mason Bambridge.

Now in fifth spot are Wilstead Reserves who were 4-1 home winners over bottom of the table Meltis Albion Reserves. Callum Evans, Edward Johnson, Lewis Duffield and Crirestyane Zemekaele on their scoresheet against a lone Albion reply from Andrew Jellicoe.

Division Four

There is no change at the top of the Division Four league standings following wins for the top five sides. For league leaders Mid Beds Tigers it was a retention of their season 100% record to stay six points clear at the top via a 9-1 home victory over Westoning Reserves. Brad Dennis led the way with a hat-trick, David Smith netting twice and they were joined on the scoresheet by an own goal plus strikes from Tomas Lee-Smith, Luke Rudd and Alex Wiltshire against a lone reply from Ryan Jordan.

Whilst second place Polonia Bedford were 4-1 home winners over AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College A. Filip Otocki on target twice alongside single strikes from Marcia Szaryck and Marian Sobczyk against one in reply from Town’s Giovanni Moscaritolo.

For third place Caldecote A it was a 2-1 home win over bottom of the table Lidlington United Sports. Paul Rannow and Oscar Smith grabbed the vital goals to outscore a single reply from United’s Alex Stubley.

Whilst fourth place Bedford Albion are now on a six game winning run following their 4-1 home victory over Henlow Reserves, Shaun Challi, Vinny Mattu, Steve Slater and Josh Emmerton all finding the back of the net against a lone reply from Tyler Ball.

For fifth place Stevington Reserves it was a return to winning ways on the road with a 3-1 victory at Flitwick Town A thanks to a hat-trick from Cameron Cain against a lone home reply from Nathan Cubley. .
