Oakley move clear in Bedfordshire League

AFC Oakley M&DH are now three points clear at the head of the Premier Division supported by Sportsform league table after they claimed their ninth win on a bounce with a 5-0 home victory over Pavenham.

Elijah Hukin, Jack Hoogstraten, Rob Heaney, Shaun Barnett and Dan Kelly all found the back of the net to bring up the nap hand.

However for second place AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College it was an end to their eight game winning run when beaten 4-2 at home by Sharnbrook. Jordan Baxter with a hat-trick alongside a single goal from Hayden Jones marked the winners’ scoresheet against Town replies via Courtney Boughton and Tim Clarke.

Up into third place are Ampthill Town Reserves who now only trail the Town on goal difference after they extended their unbeaten ways to 10 games with a 5-0 home win over Sandy, Joe O’Donnell leading the way with a hat-trick and supported by single strikes from Brad Clarke and Ryan Perry.

Whilst sitting in fourth and fifth spots are Flitwick Town and Renhold United who shared the points in a 3-3 draw at the Football Centre, Richie Bevan with a brace and a strike from Nick Atkins on the Town scoresheet to see them extend their unbeaten ways to 12 games against United replies via Mark Reed, Jonny Richins and Sheldon Washington.

For sixth place Wilstead it was home win number four on the bounce and an extension of their unbeaten ways to eight games with a 3-2 victory over second from bottom of the table Eastcotts AFC to leave the visitors still in search of their first away point. Adam Budek netted twice and Michael Jones once against Eastcotts replies via Travis Joseph and Kirkland Thompson.

The biggest win of the day belonged to seventh place Marston Shelton Rovers who ran out 8-1 home winners over Shefford Town & Campton who were duly suffering their fifth consecutive away defeat. Jamie Cerminara with a hat-trick joined on the Rovers scoresheet by braces from Dale Malciw and Alex Burrows plus a single strike from Ben Lawrence against a lone penalty reply from Town’s Nicky Threadgold.

Still sitting on the bottom are Elstow Abbey who suffered their tenth defeat on the bounce when losing 5-0 at Cranfield United for whom it was a return to winning ways following three straight defeats. Martin Holland, Liam Whitmee-Craig, Luke Gray, Alessando Bartieri and Joe Sames all found the back of the net.

Also returning to winning ways following three straight defeats were Ickwell & Old Warden who won 2-0 at Caldecote thanks to goals from Josh Cranwell and David Parker.

Division One Supported by Wests Citroen Bedford

Sundon Park Rangers are now five points clear at the head of the Division One supported by Wests Citroen Bedford league table after they extended their unbeaten ways to 11 games in sharing the points in a 2-2 home draw with Queens Park Crescents. Shaka Anderson and Lawrence Mapp netted the Rangers goals against a brace in reply from Crescents Daniel Rasol.

With second place Stevington sitting the afternoon out, third place AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Reserves failed to jump above them in the league when beaten 3-1 at home by a Henlow side who had previously lost their last four away outings, Sam Crow twice plus Antony Bowskill netting for the visitors against a lone reply from Town’s Paul Obuch.

Also failing to make inroads at the top of the table were fourth place Ickleford who saw their six game winning run ended with a 6-0 defeat at Houghton Athletic. Jordan Thomas with a brace joined on the scoresheet by Nathan Prime, Glen Collins, Al Mohiyaldeen and Mark Doran.

Elsewhere following six straight defeats Potton Town returned to winning ways with a 2-1 home victory over Riseley Sports, Jack Doran and James Day netting the vital goals against one in reply from Jake Hislop to lift the Town out of the drop zone.

With Houghton Athletic and Henlow both winning, now dropping into the relegation zone are Shefford Town & Campton Reserves despite earning themselves a share of the spoils from a 2-2 home draw with fifth place Meltis Albion. Sean Duignan and Jack Lannon on the Town scoresheet against Albion replies via Stanley Gonese and Scott Alleyne.

The Westoning v AFC Oakley M&DH Reserves game at Greenfield Road was waterlogged off.

Division Two

In the limited Division Two action Bedford United were to claim their first home win of the season in sending bottom of the table Kempston Athletic to their seventh consecutive defeat with a 2-1 victory. Gary Philipson and Tom Wade on target for United against one in reply from Athletic’s Troy Bossendorfer.

Whilst also claiming their first home win of the season were Wootton Village in beating Marston Shelton Rovers Reserves 5-2 to leave the Rovers still in search of their first away point. Adam Flynn with a hat-trick was joined on the scoresheet by an own goal plus a strike from Dan King against Rovers replies from Peter Kerr and Keiran Day.

Division Three

Dinamo Flitwick are now up into third spot in the league table after winning 6-3 at Renhold United Reserves. Joe Kwarciwski and Ben Hannam both netting twice alongside single strikes from Dale Goldie and Daniel King against United replies via Iain Asplin, Michael France and JP Stribling.

Whilst a lone goal from Chris Jenkins was enough to earn second from bottom of the table Sandy Reserves a share of the spoils from a 1-1 home draw with Shefford Town & Campton A who were thus ending a five game losing run to move up into ninth place in the league standings.

Division Four

Mid Beds Tigers’ lead at the head of the Division Four league table is now up to six points after they retained their 100% ways with a 9-1 home win over Flitwick Town A. Liam Brophy netting four times, Brad Dennis three times and Luke Rudd twice against a lone Town reply from David Lyons.

For Henlow Reserves the search of their first home point goes on after they were beaten 5-1 by AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College A. Aaron Ram with a hat-trick and Giovanni Mascarphone with brace bringing up the nap hand for the seventh placed visitors against a lone home reply from Tom Boggon.

Bedfordshire FA Junior Cup Round Three

The result of the round belonged to Division Three Wilstead Reserves who emerged 3-1 winners at Division Two Atletico Europa. Callum Evans, Liam Reed and Luke Pursey seeing their goals only replied to once by Serge Kadji for the home side.

The second big upset of the day saw Division Four Stevington Reserves run out 7-2 winners at Division Three Caldecote Reserves, Sam Nightingale with a hat-trick, Cameron Cain with a brace and single goals from Aaron Fletcher and Aaron Hewitt doing the damage against home replies from Nicky Albone and Simon Ashton.

However, there was no shock result at King George VI Playing Fields where Clapham Sports ran out 6-2 home winners over Clifton. Nathan O’Halleron, Ryan Prior, Neil Larman, Steven McKenzie, Daniel McShane and Liam Bolton all found the back of the net against replies from Charlie Watson and Stewart Kemp.

Whilst Cranfield United Reserves, with goals from Adam Kerr and Ben Thompson, were as expected 2-1 winners at Flitwick Town Reserves for whom Scott Gadsden replied.

Elsewhere there were home wins for both Kempston Hammers Sports and Wixams over Luton District & South Beds League opposition. Hammers with braces from Jimmy Grandidge, Dan Havil and Shaun Winkoner plus a single strike from Louis Rust 7-1 winners over Luton Aces and Wixams with goals from Gareth White, Adam Jellis and Matt O’Conner 3-0 victors over FC Spandits Reserves.

Whilst winning on the road against Luton District & South Beds League opposition were Cople & Bedford SA who won 5-1 at FC Polonia Luton. Ollie Hughes with a brace joined on the scoresheet by a Paul Nigro penalty plus strikes from Daniel Lupton and James Wade to bring up the nap hand. Alas going the other way was a 3-0 defeat for White Eagles at Farley Old Boys Reserves.
