Oakley held but extend Bedfordshire League lead

Ffailing to climb above Wilstead were Ampthill Town Reserves who suffered their fourth away defeat on the bounce when beaten 1-0 at Flitwick Town who thanks to a goal from Daniel Stafford were ending a four game losing run to move up into sixth spot.

They go above Cranfield United whose home game against Ickwell & Old Warden was off.

Elsewhere for Pavenham it was a 3-1 home victory over third from bottom of the table Caldecote. James Owen netting all three goals against one in reply from Jake Wallace.

The Shefford Town & Campton v Marston Shelton Rovers encounter at Hitchin Road was also postponed.

Sundon Park Rangers now find themselves eight points clear at the head of the Division One supported by Wests Citroen Bedford after they retained their unbeaten ways with a 3-2 home victory over AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Reserves.

Shaka Anderson netted twice and Kam Banda once against Town replies from Chris Wright and Jessie Sidhu.

Losing ground on the Rangers were second place Stevington who were held to a 1-1 home draw by Shefford Town & Campton Reserves but nevertheless retained their own seasons unbeaten home record and with three games in hand could with the maximum points returns from those encounters still take over that top spot. Reece Williams on their scoresheet against a Town reply from Ryan Lewis.

For third place Queens Park Crescents it was an end to their three game winning away run when beaten 4-3 at Riseley Sports. Mark Darlow, James Bowen, Jake Hislop and Sam Harrison all found the back of the net for the home side against Crescent replies via Daniel Rasol, Anish Khinda and Hassan Yousaf.

Whilst at Mill Lane Potton Town’s quest for a fourth home win on the bounce was thwarted by Meltis Albion who held them to a 4-4 draw.

Tom Pyman with a brace was joined on the Town scoresheet by a James Pyman penalty plus a strike from Brad Smith against Albion replies from Carl Townsend twice plus Scott Alleyne and Stanley Gonese.

Bedfordshire FA Intermediate Cup Quarter-Final

Henlow will now face a semi-final trip to Crawley Green Reserves after emerging 6-5 home penalty shoot-out winners over AFC Oakley M&DH Reserves after 90 minutes play had seen the sides deadlocked at 4-4.

Aaron Fehmi, twice, plus Russell Ayles and Antony Bowskill netted for the home side against M&DH replies from Ray Patrickson, Hayden Sohanta, Daniel Glos and Owen Leyton.

Division Two

Cranfield United Reserves are now two points clear at the head of the division two league table after they retained their 100% away record by winning 1-0 at bottom of the table Marston Shelton Rovers Reserves where the lone goal came via Ryan Collis from the penalty spot.

The two points lead was achieved after second place Cople & Bedford SA lost their 100% home record and failed to record their eighth win on the bounce when held to a 1-1 draw by Flitwick Town Reserves. Ollie Hughes was on the home scoresheet against an own goal in reply.

Now up into third are Atletico Europa who took their winning home ways up to four games with a 4-0 victory over Lea Sports PSG.

Tadeji Jankovic saw his 40th minute penalty saved by PSG goalkeeper Daniel Little but then gave his side the lead right on the stroke of half-time. He went on to complete his hat-trick with a goal direct from a corner in the 64th minute and then from long range eight minutes later. Substitute Mo Banda added the fourth goal 15 minutes from time.

Elsewhere Clapham Sports retained their 100% home record with a 6-2 victory over Bedford United. Nathan O’Hallaran led the way with four goals and was joined on the scoresheet by Marko Tobozic and Liam Bolton against two in reply from United’s Gary Philipson.

Whilst at Cutler Hammer it was a share of the spoils for hosts Kempston Hammers Sports and the visiting Wootton Village following a 2-2 draw. Martin Bennett from the penalty spot and Alex Giscombe netting for the Hammers against Village replies from Jason Churchman-Hall and Sam King.

There is no change at the head of the division three table following wins for the top three sides.

The trio of winners was completed by Caldecote Reserves who recorded win number seven on the bounce with a 3-1 home victory over White Eagles.

Adam Legate, Sean Bent and Josh St Clair Pierre, on his Caldecote debut following his transfer from Meltis Albion, netted the home goals against one in reply from Rafal Cygan for the Eagles.

Returning to winning ways for the first time in five outings were Dinamo Flitwick with a 6-2 victory at bottom of the table Clifton who have now lost their last eight games. In Division Four leaders Mid Beds Tigers retained their 100% home record and moved to within six points of the title after beating bottom of the table Lidlington United Sports 11-1.

Liam Brophy and Tomas-Lee Smith both netted twice to go alongside single goals for Rob Gaylor, Luke Clark, Brad Dennis, Ben Melrose, Alex Wiltshire, Daniel Bailey plus a penalty from goalkeeper Micheal Dring against one in reply from United’s Tom Staples.
