New table leaders after home win

With third place AFC Oakley Sports M&DH home game with Caldecote called off when the visitors found they were unable to raise a side to travel just 90 minutes before the scheduled kick off time they now find Shillington just goal difference behind them in fourth spot after they won 5-1 at home over Ickwell & Old Warden. Steve Moules with a brace being supported by single strikes from Jordan Robbens, Adrian Fontenelle and Luke Purchase against a lone reply from Lee Threadgold.

Now in fifth place are Flitwick Town, for them it was a 3-1 away victory at Shefford Town & Campton.Liam Keane, Jim Lewis and Adam Borton seeing their goals only replied to once by Adam Larsen. Whilst now in sixth spot are Wilstead following their 5-2 home win over Marston Shelton Rovers. Paul Jones twice plus Kevin Butler, John Steele and Adam Budek marking their scoresheet against a brace in reply from Rovers Jamie Cerminara.

However, the top scorers of the day were Renhold United who ran out 6-1 away winners at bottom of the table Sharnbrook.Tommy Foyle with a brace being supported by goals from Aran Hazelwood, Ben Brown, Kegan Roberts and Ryan Kelly against a lone home reply via Tom Chapman.

Division One

We also have new league leaders in division one after an 89th minute penalty from Goldington’s Sheldon Washington secured his side the full three points to retain their seasons 100% record in winning 2-1 at Henlow. Early in the contest, Matt Wilson had netted for the home side and Michael Luke for the new league leaders.

Losing out on that top spot were Eastcotts AFC who dropped down to sixth place after losing 1-0 at Luton Boys Seniors whose goal came via an Ali Moliholdeen penalty.

Now up into second place and still unbeaten for the season are Sandy who romped to a 6-0 home win over Shefford Town & Campton Reserves, Jonnie Stratford netting four times alongside single strikes from Ian Jakes and Ryan Gregory. Sandy keeping a point ahead of Sundon Park Rangers who were required to come from 2-3 down at half-time to secure a 5-4 home win over Brickhill Tigers. Brian Fraser, Nick Buttigieg, Sam Kehinde, Matt Conway plus a Luke Evans penalty on their scoresheet.

Just goal difference behind the Rangers in fourth spot are Elstow Abbey who won 3-1 at Caldecote Reserves. Tom Dupey shooting the home side ahead in the 6th minute before second half goals from Bruno Dos Santos Gracias, Junior Ivy and Rob Gay won the day for The Abbey.

Whilst now in fifth place are Woburn Lions, for them it was a 6-2 home victory over Bedford Sports Athletic. Daniel McClaren netting four times and Martin Holland twice against Athletic replies via Paul Nigro and Daniel Bond.

However, the top scorers of the day were Marabese Ceramics with a 7-0 home win over Bromham United. Giuseppe Marabese leading the way with four goals and supported by a brace from Romano Marabese and a single strike from John Voought.

Division Two

For league leaders Queens Park Crescent it was a fourth win on the bounce to maintain their seasons 100% record with a 6-2 home victory over AFC Harlington. Shah Rahman and Luther Prince both netting twice alongside single goals from Ayaz Hussain and Haroon Rashid, whilst the visitors replies came via an own goal and Joe Rogers.

Also maintaining their seasons 100 % ways and moving up to second spot in the league table were AFC Oakley Sports M&DH Reserves who won 7-0 at bottom of the table Stopsley Park. Jimmy Grandidge and Daniel Lupton both netting hat-tricks to go with a single strike from Kieren Souter.

Division Three

Meltis Albion’s lead at the head of the division three league table is now up to six points after they retained their seasons 100% ways with a 5-3 home win over Clifton Reserves. Sylvester Mulenga and Alex Clipston both hitting the back of the net twice alongside a goal from Thomas Hughes against replies from Gary Dodd, Vince Kernaghan and Gavin Stackman.

Division Four

FC Houghton remain at the head of the division four league table after they extended their seasons unbeaten ways with a 5-0 home win over Sandy Reserves. Lawrence Taylor and Mark Doran netting twice alongside a single strike from Chris Burdett. Whilst moving up into second spot are Wootton Village following their 3-2 away win at Flitwick Town Reserves. Adam Flynn, Darren Mason and Nick Burraway on the scoresheet against Town replies via David Lyons and Ben Ward.

Elsewhere, Cranfield United Reserves claimed their first win of the season when a goal from Chris Patrickson gave them a 1-0 home win over Atletico Europa and Shefford Town & Campton A ran out 3-1 home winners over Caldecote A thanks to a brace of goals from Darren Nichols and a single strike from Wayne Haxton against a lone reply from Andrew Spiers.

Bedfordshire FA Junior Cup 1st Round

Opening round day in this seasons Bedfordshire FA Junior Cup was to see all the games go to form and fail to produce any giant-killers. Topping the scoring chart were Cranfield United who ran out 8-1 away winners at Bedford Park Rangers, Steve Mullen with five goals, Liam Whitmere-Craig with a brace and a single strike from Robin Hewitt only being replied to once by Laurence James.

Also netting eight times were Co-Op Sports with a 8-1 home win over Aylesbury & District League side FC Spandits Reserves, Matthew Brunton and Thomas Miller netting twice alongside single strikes from John Ashman, Scott Davis, Kristopher Fox and Ashley Gardener.

Just a goal behind them were Great Barford who ran out 7-0 away winners at Moggerhanger United. Ben Stock and Jordan Morrison both netting twice alongside single strikes for Craig Gibson, Nick Payne and Patrick Mulvihill. Whilst Kings AFC claimed a 6-2 victory at Bedford Panthers, Oliver Plested netting twice alongside Jhey Tompkins, Luke Gardner, Tyrone Kelly and Chris Wright against a brace in reply from Panthers Tom Wade.

Going nap were Potton United Reserves with a 5-0 home win over Mid-Beds Tigers. Lee Adams, Ross Randall, Josh Everitt-Watson, Lee Sharnbrook and an own goal marking their scoresheet.

Over on the Green, Ickwell & Old Warden Reserves were to exit at the first hurdle when beaten 2-1 by AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Reserves. Colby Smith and Adam Gadxinski goals seeing the Town into round two despite a home reply from Alex Ingham.

Also winning 2-1 away from home were Riseley Sports in overcoming Kempston Con Club Sports, Paul Brown netting both goals against a home reply from Clayton Lawrence. Whilst there was a 3-2 away victory for Kempston Athletic at Clapham Sports, Mo Banda, Gavin Matthews and Nicholas Emene netting the vital goals against home replies from Nicholas Sepede and James Munro.

For Clifton, thanks to a brace of goals from Gareth Boness it was a 2-1 home win over Luton District & South Beds League Square Rangers. But not so lucky were Dinamo Flitwick who lost in a penalty shoot-out at North Sundon Wanderers from the same league after goals from Jamie Burton and Michael Bruce-Kirkland had the sides deadlocked at 2-2 after 90 minutes play.

Elsewhere, Potton Town were 4-3 home winners over Stevington. Tim Jarman, Tom Pyman, James Pyman and an own goal marking their scoresheet against visiting replies via Sam Nightingale, Gavin White and Ben Walsh.

Also winning on home soil were AFC Bush with a 2-1 home success over Marston Shelton Rovers Reserves. Kian Marashi and Paul Raymond netting the goals against a Rovers reply from Ashley Rigby.

Alas for Elstow Abbey Reserves it was a 1-0 defeat at North Bucks League side Southcott Village RA and Kempston Hammers Sports find themselves in round two after being awarded their home tie against Westoning after the visitors failed to raise a side to face them at their Cutler Hammer base.

Meantime, the tie between Renhold United Reserves and Luton Leagrave AFC B was abandoned just 20 minutes into the contest after a clash of heads saw United’s Jonnie Overdon required the air ambulance being called to fly him off to Bedford Hospital still unconscious. The good news being Jonnie came round early on Saturday evening and is on the road to recovery. At the time the scoreline was 1-1 with United’s goal coming from Delroy Phillips.
