Lyon roars AFC to victory against Wisbech

With an injury to Ieuan Riley, who has been playing well in centre-midfield, Rovers brought in Ben Shepherd for his first start.

Kempston started off the game in a fluid and dominant manor, keeping and moving the ball much better than of late in the midfield and in the final third.

They demonstrated some very good combination play, creating plenty of chances and forcing the Wisbech keeper into a number of good saves.

After 12 minutes Rovers took the lead from a well worked move as an acute pass from Dom Marsala sent Robbie Goodman through on the overlap, and a good cross found Ash Fuller who slotted home.

However, on 42 minutes Kempston were reduced to 10 men when Shepherd was shown a red card for kicking out in retaliation.

The second half started evenly, with Jermaine Ivy playing exceptionally as the lone target man for Rovers.

Wisbech never really threatened Walnut Boys keeper Martin Conway, but they restored parity on 77 minutes as Billy Smith hit a superb 25-yard shot into the top corner for 1-1.

Rovers made two changes to inject a bit more pace and energy into the game and on 82 minutes, Shane Bush was sent through one-on-one by a Seb Simpson pass.

The Wisbech keeper was fast off his line and made another good save, but the ball rebounded to Lyon who hit a superb 20-yard shot into the bottom corner to win the game for Rovers.
