Wretched night as Town kids crash out of cup

DESPITE bossing possession and creating plenty of chances Luton Town’s U18s crashed out of the FA Youth Cup at the third round qualifying stage as they were beaten 2-1 by Dereham Town on Friday night, writes Mark Wood.

Having taken the lead through Alasan Ann’s header the Hatters succumbed to two set-pieces much to the annoyance of manager Paul Driver.

On the game, in which Town had 68 per cent of the possession in the first half and 79 in the second, He said: “It’s disappointing. We’ve had so much of the possession.”
