Worldwide Hatters given more tickets

HATTERS from all over the world are set to converge on Wembley on Sunday as Luton Town look to book their return to the Football League. writes Mark Wood.

Luton were yesterday handed another 1,400 tickets, having already had their allocation boosted, and look set to sell all of their 29,388 seats.

Another 500 could yet come Luton’s way as they look set to dwarf York’s miniscule following which stood at just over 5,000 yesterday, with 30,000 fervent fans.

Having already sold around 28,000 tickets, fans are flying in from as far afield as Dubai, Qatar, Singapore, Australia, USA, Canada and all over Europe.

Managing director Gary Sweet said: “I really want to try and hit the 30,000 number, but I’m not quite sure we will get the number of tickets. I’m quite confident we will get to 29,000.

“We are absolutely staggered and amazed by the level of support for the football club from around the town.”
