Woolley hopes to earn a Hatters contract

ENERGETIC young striker Jake Woolley is hoping his exploits in the first team will help to earn him his first pro deal with the Hatters, writes Mark Wood.

Having tasted senior football in the FA Trophy earlier in the season, he made his league debut by coming off the bench at Darlington last Tuesday to set up Stuart Fleetwood’s injury-time equaliser.

Woolley said: “He (Gary Brabin) sent me to warm up for a good 20 minutes and then the sending off came up and I was told to sit back down.

“I got the call-up again and I went on.

“At first I was very nervous but as soon as he gave me the call-up, as it went on I got more comfortable in that role and in the end just felt right.”
