Martin, 27, has been in barnstorming form since John Still replaced Paul Buckle at the helm and, speaking after another fine display against Tamworth on Saturday, said: “For me, I’m still getting my confidence back.

“The gaffer has got into all the lads not just myself. We’ve come together and are helping each other out.”

Town were held to a goalless draw by the Lambs in blizzard type conditions at the weekend as Martin continued: “We’re professional footballers and have got to deal with good conditions and bad conditions.

“I think we’ve all played in worse than that over the years, so they are not really a problem, we’ve just got to make sure we’re right.”

The boss is starting to form opinions of who he wants to keep at Kenilworth Road beyond the season and Martin is hopeful he is one of them.

He added: “I want play for Luton. I want to make my mark.”
