Willmott puts his problems behind him

LIVEWIRE winger Robbie Willmott is hoping to put his ‘personal problems’ from earlier in the campaign behind him and inspire the Hatters to promotion, writes Mark Wood.

The 21-year-old former Cambridge wide man promised so much in pre-season, but he has been left frustrated by his own contribution this term.

Willmott’s form though has flourished in recent weeks and he’s hoping he can now show his true ability as the season reaches its climax.

He said: “I started the season off well and grabbed a couple of goals.

“Then I had a few personal problems away from football and lost a bit of confidence going in towards Christmas time.

“I was very frustrated with myself and people were getting frustrated at me and it wasn’t helping.

“I’ve found a new confidence and I feel like I’m getting back to my best now, I’m beating players, I’m shooting. I’m in good form at the moment.”
