Watkins the latest to depart Kenilworth Road

Midfielder Adam Watkins has confirmed he has left Luton Town, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 21-year-old had been out of contract this summer and tweeted earlier: “For all you asking now no longer a Luton player. Enjoyed my time there and wish them all the best! Thanks for the support since I’ve been there it meant alot. Now time to enjoy summer.”

Watkins, who was a boyhood Luton fan, made 58 appearances in total for Town since coming through the ranks at Kenilworth Road, but barely featured at all this season, playing just nine times.

His last game saw him score the winner against Skelmersdale United in the FA Trophy back in January as he finished the campaign on loan at Blue Square South side Eastleigh.
