Watkins happy with Luton role

DESPITE being disappointed not to start Luton Town’s last few games, midfielder Adam Watkins knows that there will be plenty more chances in the future, writes Mark Wood.

Watkins, 20, was an unused substitute at Wrexham on Wednesday night despite scoring in his last two outings off the bench against Bath City and Italy for England C.

He said: “I haven’t started the last few games and previous before that I had played the last eight or nine. I think he has given me a rest.

“I think the lads that have come in for me have done really well, the likes of JP (Kissock) and everyone like that.

“I haven’t got any queries about that, he (Gary Brabin) likes to rotate it and I’m just happy to be involved.

“There are a lot of matches in the season with the Trophy as well, there’s nearly two games a week.

“I would obviously like to start every game, but if I’m on the bench and I can come on and hopefully do what I did for England then it’s going to be a big thing.”
