Watkins and Kissock omission was purely tactical

THE omission of Adam Watkins and John Paul Kissock from Saturday’s squad was purely tactical according to Hatters boss Paul Buckle, writes Mark Wood.

Speaking at Monday’s press conference he said: “I know the pitch was good but I didn’t foresee it being a Kissock game, or a Watkins game to be honest.

“I think you saw a lot of second balls. There was a real physical battle.

“And I felt we had enough quality on the day in the squad to get us a goal or two.

“And the chances were there for me to see this morning on the DVD. We had some glorious chances but we could have a smile about it.

“The thing to do it to smile about it and not get too tense with missing chances.

“I don’t want people worrying now, we’ve just got to keep going, keep going and keep doing what we’ve been doing.

“And keep working really hard for each other, because I think that was key Saturday again, you saw the team really work hard for one another.

“It’s hard. When you come up against a side that can run, that can chase and that can harry, that alone is very difficult to play against let alone having the ability we’ve got at the club.

“That’s the key and that will be the key tomorrow night. As I say we are going to need a little bit of luck.”
