Town had been leading 2-0 in the clash at the Abbey Stadium on Saturday, before conceding twice in the space of two second half minutes saw Luton held 2-2.

Wall, who netted Town’s second goal, said: “We were 2-0 up against a team who’ve been top most of the time this season. I thought we did very well and it was very frustrating not to hold on to the win.

“We’ve started well both halves, got the 2-0 lead and wanted to keep that score.

“Unfortunately we couldn’t do that, but I thought we played very well and we’ll take them back to Kenilworth Road.

“I’m looking forward to Tuesday already, we want to finish the job off as we’re very strong at home, so hopefully we can continue that.”

Wall also paid tribute to Town’s travelling fans as 687 made the trip to Cambridge on Saturday.

He added: “They’re coming all the way to Cambridge and it was good to have the support.
“They’re great fans so hopefully they can come on Tuesday and support us to get us through to the next round as well.”
