The U’s had been leading their Skrill Premier clash 1-0 at the Abbey Stadium, but Wall popped up to curl an unstoppable shot into the corner of the net from the edge of the box in the 90th minute.

With Town not in action until Monday evening, John Still’s remained 14 points clear of their nearest rivals, as Alfreton were deducted three points for fielding an ineligible player.

Hatters now need just seven wins from their remaining 11 games to be crowned champions and confirm a return to the Football League.
