Walker urged to impress on loan spell at Braintree

Town manager Paul Buckle is hopeful that attacker Dan Walker does himself justice during his loan spell at fellow Blue Square Bet Premier rivals Braintree Town.

Walker, 22, has featured nine times this season, scoring three goals, but didn’t impress during his last start against Skelmersdale in the FA Trophy, prompting Buckle to come to the arrangement on Friday.

The boss said: “I don’t think Dan, probably by his own admission, did himself any favours in the last game out.

“The timing is right now. He wants to play games and I need to get games into him.”

Walker will have to wait for his first Braintree appearances as their game with Grimsby was called off on Friday while tonight’s match at Dartford has also been postponed.
