Waddock favourite with bookies for Town job

Former Wycombe and Aldershot boss Gary Waddock is the hot favourite with bookies to replace Paul Buckle as Luton manager, writes Mike Simmonds.

Buckle left the club on Tuesday afternoon and Waddock, who made over 150 appearances for Hatters as a player, is 1/3 on with Stan James.

Waddock polled just 7.12% from over 800 votes cast in a poll on the News/Gazette website asking Luton fans who they wanted in charge, with Steve Robinson, who is managing the Northern Ireland U21s, the preferred choice.

Robinson is currently 20/1 to get the job, while Graham Westley is 9/1, with other contenders Phil Brown 22/1 and York boss Gary Mills out at 25/1.
