Town boss John Still admitted he wanted to go and stand shoulder to shoulder with Hatters fans behind the Oak Road End on Saturday.

Kenilworth Road had the stand opened entirely for home supporters for the first time in 22 years, with over 1,000 filling it during the 4-1 win over Hyde.

Still said: “It was absolutely fantastic, it makes a massive, massive difference.

“I wanted to go and stand in there myself, I was enjoying that atmosphere.”

Defender Scott Griffiths and striker Andre Gray were of the same view too as Griffiths said: “

“A couple of the boys said it felt a bit different and it was nice to have them on all sides.”

Meanwhile, Gray said: “It’s fantastic, I think I prefer it now that I’ve witnessed that.

“It feels a lot more atmospheric whether we’re winning or losing.”

Still also felt that Town’s support had turned a corner, especially at Kenilworth Road, as he invited another fan in to the post match huddle once more.
