UPDATED: Town tie down Taiwo deal

All-action midfielder Solomon Taiwo has been reunited with former Dagenham & Redbridge boss John Still at Kenilworth Road, writes Mark Wood.

The 27-year-old Nigerian has signed a deal until the end of the season after flourishing under still at Victoria Road, before moving to Championship side Cardiff City for a fee that could have risen to £250,000.

Still said: “Solomon is a bright boy, and a strong and good passing footballer who can really compete.

“He is by no means fit to be included straight away, but once he’s up and at it he will be a really great addition to the squad.”

Taiwo was signed by Still from Sutton United and scored six time in 61 appearances for the Daggers before securing his move to Wales.

He was named the Daggers’ player of the season in his first full season at the club, but struggled to make his mark at the Bluebirds, starting just twice and making a total of 12 appearance as he was loans back to the Daggers.

Taiwo saw a £150,000 move to Norwich City collapse and went on to play five times for Leyton Orient, once for Mansfield and most recently he has been at Bromley.

The midifielder is Still’s third signing since taking charge of the Hatters less than two weeks ago.

He has already brought in Alex Wall on loan from Maidenhead United with a view to a permanent move and 19-year-old Millwall defender Jake Goodman on loan until the end of the season.
