Wall was sent off for a high challenge on Neil Ashton at the Racecourse Ground, before then appearing to stamp on the Wrexham skipper, an offence the Town target man has denied.

A club statement read: “The Hatters will appeal against the severity of Alex Wall’s suspension following his red card against Wrexham on Friday night.

“The young striker was dismissed for a high-footed challenge on Wrexham’s Neil Ashton with 10 minutes to go in the televised fixture.

“The appeal aims at reducing the number of games Alex is due to face for suspension - which currently stands at three matches.”

Meanwhile, Tuesday’s game comes to soon for recovering centre-half Anthony Charles (shoulder), but there is a chance the likes of Alex Lacey (twisted ankle), Alex Lawless and David Martin could all feature.

On the possibility of Lacey returning to the side, Still said: “I’m not sure yet, he’s done a little bit of training today, but we’ll have a look tomorrow.”

But he ruled out the chance of a return for experienced defender Charles, as he continued: “He’s training, but he’s not ready yet.”

Lawless made his first appearance of the season as a 61st-minute sub in the 2-0 defeat at Wrexham and Still revealed he could be ready to start.

He said: “Possibly, we’ll see how he reacts to training today, he’s trained today so we’ll so how he reacts from that.”

However, a return for winger Martin seems less likely, as Still added: “He’s trained. He may be ready, but he’s missed a little bit so we’ll wait ’til tomorrow to see how he comes through training today.”
