UPDATED: Still makes decisions on players’ futures

Calculating Hatters boss John Still is set for crunch talks with managing director Gary Sweet tomorrow (Friday) over the future of some of his players, writes Mark Wood.

Still admitted at today’s press conference he’s decided that a number of players both in and out of contract at the end of the season are unlikely to figure in his plans next term.

And he revealed he is set to communicate his findings to Sweet at a weekly meeting they have instituted.

Still said: “Players are going to go eventually and I’m in the process now of talking to players.

“I will be having a meeting with Gary Sweet tomorrow and I will be telling him some players that I am going to (release) that I’ve already decided.”

And that will include both players in and out of contract, as Still added: “It’s just a meeting I’ve made with him once a week, but I will be bringing up players that I think is this time now we decide to make some changes.

“And once you make your mind up I think it’s better to do it rather than let it drift.

“That will be part of the meeting. Both (in contract and out of contract) it doesn’t matter about contracts.”
