Tyler happy with his late heroics

Town were indebted to keeper Mark Tyler’s late heroics as they clung on to a goalless home draw against promotion rivals Wrexham on Saturday, writes Mark Wood.

Luton’s number one put last week’s calamitous error behind him to deny old friend and Red Dragons debutant Andy Bishop in the dying moments to earn the Hatters a point in a game they didn’t once test visiting keeper Joslain Mayebi.

Tyler made three crucial saves though, especially late on when turned Bishop’s low shot aside and then brilliantly cut out the follow-up cross.

The keeper said: “It’s a nice save, it kept us in the game. That’s why I like being a goalkeeper and making saves.

“The less I do the better for me, but if I get called upon I do my best.

“It was nice to keep a clean sheet, but it’s not down to me, it’s the whole team.”
